Postre Catarina was born from a mother’s love, resilience, and a desire to create a better future.
When my son was just two years old, I wanted to work, but I also wanted to be the one caring for him. Then the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, and in the middle of uncertainty, I found my inspiration. I turned to what I loved — creating desserts — and I decided to start my own small business from home.
I watched countless videos on YouTube and Instagram, practicing every recipe again and again. It didn’t always come out right the first time, but I tried again… and by the second attempt, with God’s help, my desserts finally came out delicious.
I named my business Postre Catarina in honor of my mother, who lives in Guatemala. I support her by paying someone to take care of her, and she is one of my biggest motivations to keep going and give my best every single day.
Today, Postre Catarina is more than desserts — it is the story of a family, of sacrifice, of love, and of the dream to create something beautiful from the hardest moments.
